Following their hauntingly powerful debut single, ‘The Crying Room’, alternative up-and-comers, The Yagas, have kicked off 2025 with a bang, releasing their latest single ‘She’s Walking Down’.

Inspired by a repeating nightmare lead singer Vera Farmiga had about her daughter, ‘She’s Walking Down’ is a story of violence and revenge, as well as a raw display of motherly passion.

In an Instagram video released prior to ‘She’s Walking Down’, Farmiga explained how the song came from her wishing to change the plot of her nightmares and rebuke the fear. 

The track kicks off with Farmiga’s voice distorted repeating the line “She’s Walking Down” before swiftly transitioning into a chaotic breakdown that elevates the track to unimaginable heights.

A major highlight of the track comes in the form of the elaborate distorted guitar lines, courtesy of lead guitarist Mark Visconti.

‘She’s Walking Down’ builds an enthralling soundscape that is as mesmerizing as it is staggering.

Considering the band has only existed for a few short years, their mix of styles and talents pair together perfectly, creating soundscapes that pull the listener in, refusing to let them go. 

With their debut album set to release sometime this year, it’s safe to say The Yagas aren’t going anywhere. They are likely the next big thing when it comes to alternative music.
