Creators of Glasgow’s Dominion club night, Barry and Clair, have been busy in preparation for the Noir Night Market, due to take place this Sunday.
The Noir Market hosts fashion, lifestyle, homeware and fetish vendors for a jam-packed evening of alternative shopping and community. The event recently became an official supporter of The Sophie Lancaster Foundation, with the team working towards official representation for the charity in Scotland.
The project continues to expand as its popularity grows, with the upcoming market expected to reach upwards of 200 attendees.

“We are now in our third year and never really expected it to grow the way it has, so it always leaves us a little bit speechless after each one. We are hoping to continue to grow and expand the market with new vendors. We’ll keep doing the market for as long as people support it.” Clair and Barry revealed.
“Preparations have been as hectic as they always are; each market takes us from the end of the last one up until the week before the next one, so approximately three months. We do this to create the perfect mix of vendors, both returning and new. We aim to have 70% regular vendors and 30% new vendors.”
Approximately 60 vendors will be in attendance this weekend, including photographers, bakers, artists, taxidermists, designers and more.

They said, “You can expect to see some new traders who will be popping their NNM cherry. Our bar will be back with some amazing cocktails, and we also have a new sound and lighting set-up.”
“We always look forward to seeing all our vendors, it’s become a little community where it’s almost like a family. Our vendor community is now UK-wide, with vendors from London, Birmingham, Leeds, and Newcastle regularly making the trip to Glasgow. Along with all our amazing Scottish folks, they really are an awesome, spooky bunch of weirdos.”
Tickets are £5 on the door or can be purchased online. A pound of each ticket sold will be donated to The Sophie Lancaster Foundation.
This month’s market will be held in The Briggait, Glasgow on Sunday the 6th between 4 and 9 PM. You can pre-book tickets now on their website, www.noirnightmarket.com.
