As the leaves begin to crunch beneath our feet and the air grows chilly, many reminisce about things that remind us of this time of year: pumpkin spice lattes, maple syrup, witches and cats, the list goes on.

This year, cosmetics company Lush has brought out an array of autumnal and spooky products that smell as good as they look. This season, I have eight different products to share with you.

Firstly, I have two skincare products: the ‘Bootiful eye-masks’ and the ‘Pumpkin face’ face mask. The eye masks are ghost-shaped under eye pads that claim to cool the skin and reduce dark circles. I found this product to be cute, though gimmicky. It would be a cute addition to the coveted “boo basket” many people make for their significant other this time of year. These under-eye masks were cooling, and after 15 minutes, they made me feel refreshed and awake. However, I found they had no visible cosmetic effect.

The pumpkin face mask, however, I really enjoyed. It had a pleasant pumpkin scent (which has to be my favourite smell of all time) and when applied, left my skin visibly glowing. Pumpkin contains a substantial amount of vitamin A, which promotes cell turnover rate and boosts collagen production over time.

The last skincare product which Lush sent me is the ‘Blood Orange’ lip-scrub. If you’re a fellow self-proclaimed crusty girl, then this is the product I’d recommend to you. The blood orange scent combines the freshness of citrus with a deeper, darker undertone perfect for the Halloween season. The sugar base of the scrub exfoliates dead skin from your lips and also makes the scrub taste safe. Trust me, you will want to taste it.

Stepping into the shower now, Lush very kindly sent 3 different soaps to try: the ‘Alien Egg Farm’ shower jelly, the anticipated ‘Pumpkin Spice Latte’ shower gel, and the ‘Demon in the Dark’ soap.

The ‘Alien Egg Farm’ shower jelly has been all the rage across social media, reminiscent of the 90s children’s toy. This shower jelly boasts a pleasant lime scent and was very effective for washing oneself. The soap produced a beautiful lather, and the scent was truly lovely. I stepped out of the shower, pleasantly surprised that this product wasn’t just a gimmick, but actually incredibly usable. The alien inside the jelly is a solid soap bar, which I thought was a lovely touch.

The star of the show, however, is the ‘Pumpkin Spiced’ shower gel. This glittery orange liquid is oozing with a delicious scent and beautiful texture. The overtones of the perfume contain warm spices like cinnamon and cardamom, held together by a blanket of pumpkin. As it sits on the skin, the “latte” aspect becomes more pronounced, with soft notes of vanilla and coffee. The glitter didn’t sit on top of my shower acrylic and easily washed down the drain with the rest of the water.

The ‘Demon in the Dark’ soap is a solid bar that would be perfect for any home bathroom at Halloween time to add some spooky theming to the season. When used in the shower, this has a really clean afterfeel, which was incredibly pleasant. It has a lovely scent of eucalyptus and mint.

Last, but certainly not least, Lush is well known for their bath bombs and bubble bars, and this Halloween collection is not exempt from that. The ‘Ghost’ bath bomb and ‘Bewitched’ bubble bar both hold the classic lush scent that reminds me of being 12 years old. The ‘Bewitched’ bubble bars are the shape of a black cat; it’s cute and holds a bergamot scent and citrus notes, while maintaining the dark and whimsical Halloween vibe.

To conclude, the Halloween 2025 collection is an all-around set that has a bit of something for everyone in it. The company has a history of being environmentally conscious, inclusive and humanitarian, which is something that I will always encourage and support.  In all, the collection is full of amazing scents, luscious textures, and something that you, as a consumer, are sure to enjoy.
